Gilford Youth Center


 The After School Club is an after school program for current middle school students. The program will be held at the Gilford Youth Center, following school hours. Students will be transferred from the school to the Gilford Youth Center by bus.

About the After School Club

The After School Club will offer students a safe and positive atmosphere where students can interact with fellow peers, gain self esteem, and perform physical activity. The program will focus on the following areas:

  • Academics- Each day, the program will begin with students given time to work on all homework assignments. Passive activities will be available during this time as well.

    ImageAcademic help will be available during this time for students. Students will utilize the social room during this time.
  • Physical Activity/Group Games- Following the academics session, students will be involved with group games and activities. During this time, Students will use the gymnasium, game room, outside playground and local fields. Games will help students interact, gain self-esteem, and learn new skills. Through group games and activities, the program will help promote the importance of exercise and healthy living.

  • Leadership/ Life Skills- Students participating in the After School Club will also be involved in various games and activities that teach and promote leadership skills, that can help students academically, socially, and mentally.

  • Free Time- Student will also be given "Free time" throughout the week. This will allow students to use the GYC’s recreational equipment.
