One Community Project

The "One Community Project" (OCP) started in 2011 as a local community service event for kids. The focus of the event is to provide local children the opportunity to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our community by helping a fellow neighbor. Over the years, we have painted and landscaped 13 homes, worked at the town fields, town beach, the Gilford Youth Center, and Gilford Community Church.

What makes the the OCP so unique, is that it is open to ALL ages. During the four day event, we offer opportunities for elementary-age children, middle and high school students, college students, AND adults!!
Projects include (but not limited to):

*Painting
*Scraping
*Landscaping
*Trash Removal
*Deck repair/Replacement
*Roof repair
* Window Cleaning
* Mulching
* Porch repair/replacement

Participation in this program may involve risk of injury. As a parent, guardian or participant, I am aware of these hazards and my child’s ability to participate. In consideration for participation in the program listed above, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators waive and release all rights against the Gilford Youth Center, the Gilford Community Church, its officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and supervisors, except in the case of their sole negligence, from all losses, injury, damages, fees, and other expenses, arising out of or in connection with participation in the program and activities. In addition, I give my permission for the child to be treated by qualified medical personnel in the event that the above named parent/guardian cannot be reached at the phone numbers provided. As a parent, guardian or participant, I allow the Gilford Youth Center to take my child’s picture/video for advertising and promotional purposes. *

What to Bring:

4. Working clothes- clothes you don't mind getting ruined.
5. Closed-toe shoes/sneakers- no sandals/flip flops

WE WILL PROVIDE LUNCH EVERY DAY.

2024 Location

This year, we will have 2 projects going on at once!

1) Scraping and painting the parsonage
2) Updating/replacing the Gate House at the Gilford Beach. This project will also have landscaping.
